The Fibromyalgia Paisley and Inverclyde Network (Fibro PaIN) group has its meetings in the Parish Hall next to St Mirin Cathedral. We share some support tips and what has been happening in the world of fibromyalgia as well as talking about what the group will do in coming months.

Meetings are scheduled for 2 hours but we have the room for longer than this and people tend to stay for a bit and have a chat afterwards. Tea, Coffee, biscuts and an understanding ear are the norm but we have speakers on various topics that attend to give us some information on various topics.

Future Meetings
We will hope to have speakers on a range of subjects from benefits to tai chi, physiotherapy and holistic treatments as well as the local CVS and medical professionals. Speakers will tend to speak for between 30 - 60 mins.

Our calendar of of futue meeting dates can be found here. We also have a lot of resources that can help with managing fibromyalgia and our Library will be increasing as well. Members will be able to take books and other materials on loan or purchase photocopies where relevant.

Would you be interested in an Evening Meeting.

The Committee are considering holding an evening meeting 3 or 4 times a year, for people who cannot manage the afternoon meetings for any reason.

If you would be interested, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

The format/location of such meetings is still to be agreed - and would depend on whether members wished a formal meeting with speakers, or more of a social meeting (perhaps in a local pub or restaurant for example).

PhilBuckleyWe are really sorry to have to share the news that Phil Buckley has passed away. We were shocked to hear of his death and wish to pass on our condolences on behalf of everyone from the Fibromyalgia Paisley and Inverclyde Network to his partner Christine.

The Paisley and Inverclyde Group would not have been restarted without Phil’s intervention and determination to seek support as well as provide it for others who suffer from fibromyalgia.

At the recent meeting in September we were asked about places where people could go for benefits advice. The Renfrewshire Council website has plenty of information on the services provided by Advice Works as well as other information. You can locate the info here.

You can also find valuable advice from Citizens Advice Service in Paisley. Information on them can be found here.
