PET scan

Research has shown that when the brains of FMs and non-FMs are scanned, there are noticeable differences.

The frontal lobes in the FM are 'switched off', that is, they do not have the same chemistry or brain function of the 'normal' brain.

This part of the brain deals with personality, behaviour and learning: at last a reason for Fibro Fog!

The only PET scanner in Scotland is used for research, not diagnosis.
