CFIDS

Chronic Fatigue and Immune Dysfunction Syndrome. Also know as CFS.

CFS

Chronic Fatigue syndrome. Also known as CFIDS

Chronic fatigue syndrome

Debilitating and complex disorder. It is characterised by profound fatigue lasting at least six months and when bedrest does not help; weakness; muscle pain; impaired memory; and sometimes insomnia.

Cognitive

Ability to know, think, learn, judge, be aware.

Diabetes

A metabolic disease characterised by high blood sugar and insufficient insulin resulting in tiredness or fatigue in the body.

Dopamine

Regulates production of substance P.

Endorphins

One of the body’s painkillers, an opioid chemical produced to lower pain. One site of production is the brain.

Fatigue

Lessened capability to work, reduced efficiency of achievement with weariness and tiredness.

Fibro fog

Impaired cognition and memory function.
